Continu Insights is the built-in business intelligence tool for your Continu platform. Use it to build, share, and schedule dashboards of your learning data. Insights Core covers the pre-built dashboards; Insights Pro adds custom dashboard creation and Continu AI.
What Insights is
Insights turns your Continu data into live dashboards: completion rates across an org, activity trends, workshop registrations, leaderboards, and more. It ships with pre-built dashboards for user engagement, assignment snapshots, and content audits. Dashboards can be shared with individual users or profiles and scheduled for automated delivery as PDF, CSV, or Excel.
Insights Core and Insights Pro
- Insights Core includes the pre-built dashboards. You can filter them, drill down, and adjust which metrics display, but not change their underlying structure. Pre-built dashboards always stay intact, so there is no way to break them. Core is included with Enterprise plans and available as a paid add-on on other plans.
- Insights Pro is a paid add-on that unlocks building your own dashboards and visualizations from scratch, plus Continu AI, which answers plain-language questions about your data.
When to use Insights vs. other reporting
Continu has several reporting tools, each suited to a different job:
- Insights is for initiative-level and leadership reporting: evergreen dashboards you monitor over time, share with stakeholders, and schedule for delivery.
- The Reports section is for raw data exports: filter, save, and download spreadsheets when you need the underlying rows.
- Content-level reports (the analytics icon on any piece of content) are for tracking individual learner progress through a specific item. Individual-level detail lives here, not in Insights.
- The Overview area gives a quick snapshot of platform activity when you do not need to dig in.
Getting started
Start by opening one of the pre-built dashboards and adjusting its filters to your audience. When you are ready to build your own, decide on the audience, the 3 to 6 metrics that matter, and the question the dashboard should answer, then follow the build guide below.
Enabling Insights and access
If you do not see Insights in your admin navigation, talk to your Customer Success Manager about enabling it. Access is controlled at the role level: admins have access by default, and it can be extended to other roles, such as managers or analysts, as part of your instance configuration.
How the data works
Insights pulls from your Continu instance, the same data that powers Reports, so there is no separate sync to configure. Data refreshes on a regular cadence; the interval can vary by account, so check with your Customer Success Manager if timing matters for your reporting. Insights includes the historical data your instance has retained. You can export the data behind any chart to CSV, but for compliance-grade per-row exports the Reports section is the better fit.
