How to pull attendance data from Zoom for Workshops delivered through the Zoom integration — the source of truth for who actually attended.
For Workshops delivered through Zoom, attendance data lives in Zoom itself, not just in Continu. Pulling the Zoom attendance report gives you the participant log Zoom captured — useful for compliance verification and for cases where Continu's recorded attendance doesn't match what hosts observed.
For the Workshop-level attendance view inside Continu, see Workshop Status Report. Use the Zoom report when you need Zoom's own participant data (timestamps, durations, exact entry/exit times).
How to Download Zoom Attendance
1. Log in to Zoom. Go to https://zoom.us/ and sign in with the account that hosted the meeting.
2. Click Reports in the left-hand navigation.
3. Click Usage.
4. Select a date range that includes the meeting. The report won't be available until at least 30 minutes after the meeting ends — Zoom processes attendance data after the session.
5. Click the number in the Participants column. This opens the attendance report for that specific meeting.
6. Click Export. Downloads the attendance report as a CSV.
What's in the Zoom Report
Per-participant: name (as joined), join time, leave time, total duration, email (if collected during registration). Useful for compliance audits where exact attendance times matter.
What Makes Zoom Reports Worth Pulling
Compliance verification. For training that requires X minutes of attendance, the Zoom report gives exact join/leave times.
Disputes about attendance. When Continu attendance and Zoom attendance disagree, the Zoom report is the source of truth for who was actually on the call.
Multi-attendance auditing. If learners can join and leave multiple times, the Zoom report shows each entry/exit event.
Configuration Pitfalls
Pulling the Report Too Early. Zoom needs at least 30 minutes after the meeting to process. Reports pulled too early may be incomplete or missing.
Mismatched Account. The Zoom report is only accessible to the Zoom account that hosted the meeting. If multiple accounts host workshops, you need access to whichever account hosted the specific meeting.
Participant Name Doesn't Match Continu Profile. Zoom records names as participants enter them in Zoom. If a learner joins with "John D." but their Continu profile is "John Doe," matching them across systems requires the email column (if collected at registration).
Treating Zoom Duration as Engagement. Being in the Zoom meeting isn't the same as being engaged. The Zoom report shows presence, not attention.
Where This Fits
You're here because you need Zoom-side attendance data. For Continu-side Workshop attendance, see Workshop Status Report. For Zoom Workshop setup, see Adding Zoom Meetings and Webinars To Workshops.
