Why Can't I Progress in my Course?

You completed a piece of content but the course (Learning Track, Journey, or assigned program) isn't progressing. The common causes and how to resolve.

When content in a Learning Track or Journey doesn't mark as complete, the program can't advance. The next step stays locked until the current step registers completion. Most cases come down to one of three things: completion tracking, sync delay, or a step you haven't actually finished.

Common Causes and Fixes

1. The content has a completion threshold you haven't reached. Videos often require watching 90-100% of the content. SCORM courses may require reaching a specific slide or score. Open the content and confirm it actually marked as complete in its own player.

2. The course step requires a previous step. Learning Tracks and Journeys have order. If step 3 is locked, step 2 may still be incomplete even if it looks done. Go back and verify every prior step shows as Completed.

3. Completion is still syncing. Continu has a short delay between a completion event and the program updating. Refresh the page. If still stuck after a few minutes, sign out and back in.

4. The Track is configured to require everything in order. Some Tracks lock subsequent steps until prior steps are done; others allow free order. If you're trying to jump ahead and it's blocked, the Track is order-locked.

If You're Still Stuck

Contact the program owner (typically your admin or the person who assigned the Track). They can verify the completion state in the admin view and identify whether the issue is on the content side, the program configuration, or your individual record.
