A user sees "This account is no longer active" when trying to sign in. They've been suspended — and the fix is in the Admin user list.
The "This account is no longer active" error appears when a user account has been Suspended in Continu. Suspension typically happens automatically when an HRIS sync removes the user from the active employee list, or manually when an admin suspends the account. Suspended users cannot sign in until they're reinstated.
How to Resolve (Admin)
1. Go to Admin → Users.
2. Switch the filter to Suspended.
3. Search for the affected user.
4. Open the user's profile.
5. Click Reinstate. The user can sign in immediately.
If the user is not in the Suspended list, check the Inactive list. Inactive users were never activated; Suspended users were active and then deactivated. The reinstate flow is the same in both cases.
If HRIS Sync Is Suspending the User
If you reinstate the user and the next HRIS sync suspends them again, the root cause is upstream — the user is not in the active employee list in your HRIS. Resolve at the HRIS, not in Continu. The next sync will pull them back as active.
