Surveys collect input from learners — pre-/post-content reactions, knowledge checks that don't need grading, feedback on programs. They run alongside content (attached before or after) and aggregate responses for admin review.

The Survey Lifecycle

Create the Survey. Set up the Survey shell with a title, description, and configuration. See Creating and Editing Surveys.

Add Questions. Each Survey supports up to three questions of various types (radio, checkbox, text). See Adding Questions To Surveys.

Attach the Survey to content. Surveys run before or after a piece of content. See Attaching Surveys To Content.

Review results. View aggregate responses in Continu or export to CSV. See View and Export Survey Results.


What Surveys Can Capture

Reactions. "How useful was this content?" — gauge engagement after a learner completes a piece.

Knowledge checks (informal). Quick multiple-choice questions that don't need grading. For graded assessment with rubrics and retry logic, use Assessments instead.

Feedback. Open-ended questions about what worked, what didn't, what's missing.

Program input. Pre-program questions to tailor the experience ("What's your role? Which scenarios do you want to focus on?").


What Surveys Cannot Do

Grading or pass/fail logic. Surveys don't have correct answers — they only collect responses. For graded learning, use Assessments.

Branching question logic. Surveys deliver all questions in order. For conditional questions ("if Yes, then..."), you need an external survey tool.

Anonymous response collection. Survey responses are tied to the learner. For genuinely anonymous data collection, use an external survey tool.
