Your profile, your password, your notification preferences, and the integrations Continu uses to deliver content to you. The settings that personalize Continu.
Account settings are the personal layer of Continu. Profile photo and display name affect how others see you. Notifications affect how Continu reaches you when something changes. Integrations affect where you can engage with content beyond the Continu web app.
Most of these settings have sensible defaults. The ones worth checking on your first day: notification preferences, time zone, and (if applicable) any Slack or Teams integration.
Get to Your Account Settings
Click your profile icon at the top right of any page in Continu, then Profile Settings. The settings page is divided into your profile details on the left and your preferences on the right.
Profile Details
Profile photo. Click the photo (or placeholder) to upload an image. JPEG, PNG, and most common image formats work. Profile photos are visible to other learners in your organization on Workshops, comments, and People Search.
Display name. The name other learners and admins see. Pulled from your HR system on most setups — changes may sync back from there. Check with your admin before changing it.
Email. Your sign-in email and the address Continu sends notifications to. Changing it here may require admin approval, depending on your organization's setup.
Password. Set or change your password. Only relevant for email and Employee ID sign-in — SSO users manage their password in their identity provider. See Signing In to Continu.
Language. Continu supports multiple interface languages. Pick the one you want for menus, buttons, and system messages. Content stays in the language it was authored in. See Continu Language Support.
Time zone. Affects how Workshop times and due dates display to you. Set this on your first day if your organization spans regions — Workshop times are otherwise shown in your account's default zone.
Notification Preferences
Continu sends notifications when content is assigned to you, when due dates approach, when Workshops are upcoming, and when comments or replies need your attention. You control which notifications you receive and where.
In-app notifications. The bell icon in the top navigation. Always on — these are the canonical record of what's happening in Continu.
Email. Toggle on/off for each notification type. The most important toggle is "Assignment notifications" — if this is off, you won't get an email when something new is assigned.
Mobile push. If you've installed the Continu mobile app, push notifications can be enabled per notification type.
Slack and Microsoft Teams. If your organization has connected Slack or Teams to Continu, notifications can route there too. Connect from this page; see Enabling Eddy in Slack for the Slack-specific flow.
Notification volume. If you're getting too many emails, the right move is usually to disable the channels you don't read rather than disabling notifications entirely — Continu's notifications are how you'll know assignments are due.
Calendar Integration
Continu can add Workshop sessions to your calendar automatically. Connect Google Calendar or Outlook from your account settings. Once connected, registering for a Workshop adds the session to your calendar with the location or video link included.
If you unregister from a Workshop, the calendar event is removed automatically.
Viewing Your Notifications
Click the bell icon at the top right to see your in-app notifications. The list shows recent activity — new assignments, due dates approaching, Workshop reminders, comments and mentions.
Click any notification to go directly to the relevant content.
Common Questions
I'm not receiving email notifications. Check three things, in order: notification preferences on this page (the toggle for the relevant notification type), your email spam folder, and your IT team's email allowlist (Continu's email domain may need to be allowed).
My display name updates back to the old one after I change it. Your organization's HR sync is overwriting it. Talk to your HR or Learning team about updating the source record.
The password change option isn't there. You sign in via SSO. Reset your password in your identity provider (Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc.).
Time zone keeps reverting. Some organizations control time zone at the org level. Check with your admin.
