1. What’s the difference between Automated and Direct Assignments?
Automated Assignments are triggered by actions—like joining a group or completing a course. Direct Assignments are manually sent to specific individuals or teams.
2. Can I assign the same content more than once?
Yes. Assignments are managed at the instance level, so you can create multiple instances of the same content for different users, teams, or timeframes.
3. What happens if I edit an Assignment after it’s been assigned?
Changes won’t affect users who’ve already received the Assignment. If someone no longer needs to complete it, you can manually remove them from the instance.
4. How do I stop an Assignment from being assigned?
For Automated Assignments, deactivate the automation to stop future triggers.
For Direct Assignments, remove users who no longer need it—but note that assigned users have already received the content.
5. How can I track who’s completed an Assignment?
You can track progress in multiple ways:
From the Instances tab (filter by user, group, or status)
Via content- or assignment-level Reports
6. Can I reuse Assignments?
Yes—Assignments are designed to be reused by creating new instances. Each instance can target different users, due dates, or messages while using the same core content.
7. Do Assignments support reminders or overdue notifications?
Yes. You can enable automated reminders, including overdue notifications, when setting due dates for an Assignment instance.
8. Where do learners find their Assignments?
Learners can view and manage all active Assignments directly from their dashboard.
9. What happens if someone misses the due date?
The Assignment will be marked as Overdue. You can choose to follow up manually, rely on the built-in overdue reminders, or remove the Assignment if it’s no longer required.
