Setting Up The Continu Tab Within Salesforce

How to add a Continu tab within Salesforce so users can access Continu from inside Salesforce.

Adding a Continu tab to Salesforce gives users in-Salesforce access to Continu without switching applications. Setup is done by a Salesforce administrator in Classic Mode.

For the broader Salesforce integration setup, see Setting Up The Salesforce Integration With Continu.

Note: A Salesforce administrator should perform this setup so the tab appears for all the users who need it.

How to Add the Continu Tab

Step 1: Click Setup in Salesforce. You'll need to be in Classic Mode.

Step 2: Click Create.

Step 3: Click Tabs.

Step 4: Under Web Tabs, click New.

Step 5: Choose the layout. Full page width displays Continu best. Click Next.

Step 6: Name the tab.

Step 7: Choose a Tab Style.

Step 8: Add a Description.

Step 9: Click Next.

Step 10: Enter the URL for your Continu platform. Use the URL exactly as it appears after login.

Step 11: Click Next.

Step 12: Configure which Salesforce profiles can view the Continu tab. Click Next.

Step 13: Customize tab visibility per profile if needed. Click Save.

Step 14: The new Continu tab is now available within Salesforce.

Configuration Pitfalls

Classic Mode Required. Tab creation in Salesforce requires Classic Mode. If you're in Lightning Experience, switch modes before starting.

URL Without Login State. Use the URL as it appears after Continu login (your specific subdomain). Generic Continu URLs may not route users to the right instance.

Wrong Profile Visibility. Tab visibility is set per Salesforce profile. If users report they can't see the tab, check profile assignment.

Full Page Width vs Other Layouts. Continu renders best at full page width. Other layouts may cut off content depending on the user's screen size.

SSO Coordination. If users access Continu through SSO, the in-Salesforce tab depends on the SSO integration working. Test as a learner before announcing.
