What managers see in Continu — the visibility surface for direct reports' learning progress and the entry point to manager actions.
The Manager Dashboard is the home page for users designated as managers in Continu. It surfaces direct reports' assignment status, completion progress, and overdue items. From here a manager can drill into individual reports, take action on assignments, and view team-scoped reports.
For the strategic frame on manager tools, see Manager Enablement: Tools for Driving Team Capability.
How Managers Reach the Dashboard
Users with manager designation (via the manager_id field on their direct reports, or via Group Manager assignment) see a Manager option in the left-hand navigation. Click it to open the Manager Dashboard.
If a user has direct reports but no Manager option appears, the manager_id field on the reports may not be set, or the user's role isn't configured for manager visibility. See User Management.
What the Dashboard Shows
Direct reports list. Everyone whose manager_id field points to you. For Group Managers, the list is everyone in your assigned Group.
Assignment status per report. Active, in-progress, overdue, and completed counts per direct report.
Recent activity. Recent completions and new assignments across your team.
Team-level rollups. Aggregated completion rates for the team.
What Managers Can Do From the Dashboard
Open a direct report's profile. Click any direct report to see their full assignment list, progress, and history.
Assign content to the team. If your role allows direct assignment, click +Assign to open the assignment flow. See Managers: Creating a Direct Assignment.
Send reminders. For overdue assignments, send a reminder to the specific user or bulk-remind across the team.
View reports. Open team-scoped reports for completion, engagement, and assignment status. The reports available depend on your permission configuration.
What Managers Cannot Do (Unless Permission Granted)
Default manager permissions are scoped — managers see and act on their own team, not the wider organization. Specifically:
- Cannot view other managers' teams
- Cannot edit content (unless they also have Creator or Admin role)
- Cannot manage user accounts (unless they also have admin permissions)
Manager permissions can be configured per-manager. See Manager Permission Configurations.
