This guide will walk you through the use cases and timing attached to each Audience Trigger you can utilize when Creating a Workflow.

A User Is Added To Continu

Triggers: When the user confirms their account and logs in for the first time.

This workflow will run for users upon their first login, not when the account is first created. Continu does not consider a user as "added to Continu" until they login for the first time. If you would like to assign content to a pending user before they login, try utilizing the A User Was Hired Today or A User Was Hired X Days Ago workflow triggers.

A User is Updated

Triggers: As soon as an active User account is updated with any changes.

The account must have a change associated with it. Pressing edit and saving without making any changes will not trigger the workflow.
In addition, the account must be active. Updates do not register for this workflow audience trigger until the account has been confirmed.

A User is Created or Updated

Triggers: When a User is onboarded or updated. If a User is created, this workflow will function the same as the A User Is Added to Continu & A User is Updated workflow, and not trigger on a muted provisioning status.

A User Has Completed Content

Triggers: As soon as the content has been completed within Continu by the User.

A User Has Completed An Assignment

Triggers: Based on Delay set up in the assignment section of the workflow. A 1-day delay will trigger about 24 hours after the assignment has been completed. A 2-day delay will trigger about 48 hours later, etc. This trigger runs at intervals, and will not always trigger at the exact same time, based on when the assignment was completed.

0 Day Delay: A 0-day delay has special functions. 0 Day delays let this workflow find all users who have ever completed the assignment and assign out the new content in the workflow. Using this 0 Day Delay will trigger the Workflow immediately on completion of the assignment.

A User Has Registered For A Workshop

Triggers: Immediately after the User has registered for the workshop.

A User Has Attended A Workshop

Triggers: After a User has been marked as Attending a workshop.

A User was Hired Today

Triggers: Daily at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern for users with a hired date. This trigger will not fire for any users without a hired date. Additionally, if a user is uploaded to Continu after the trigger time on their hire date this trigger will not fire.

Using this audience option instead of 'A user is added to Continu', allows you to pre-load user information into the system, allowing content to be assigned to a pending user before the new hire begins with your organization.

A User was Hired Exactly 60 Days Ago

Triggers: Daily at 3:30pm Pacific / 6:30pm Eastern for users with a hired date 60 days in the past. This trigger will not fire for any users without a hired day.

A User was Hired Exactly 90 Days Ago

Triggers: Daily at 3:30pm Pacific / 6:30pm Eastern for users with a hired date 90 days in the past. This trigger will not fire for any users without a hired day.

A User was Hired exactly X Days Ago

Triggers: Daily at 3:30pm Pacific / 6:30pm Eastern for users with a hired date X days in the past as set by the workflow creator. This trigger will not fire for any users without a hired day.
